The Miss Texas County crown is being passed from one Reed to another.
Gilda Ray Reed was crowned the 2009 winner at Saturday’s annual Miss Texas County Scholarship Pageant at the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce Fairgrounds. She follows her older sister, Katy, who was the reigning Miss Texas County.
Reed and Dusti Turner, named Outstanding Teen Miss Texas County, will compete next summer in Mexico, Mo., for their respective state titles.
More than 400 people attended the event inside the chamber’s community building. Results were:
Miss Texas County: Gilda Ray Reed; Lauren Kortesmaki, first runner-up.
Outstanding Teen Miss Texas County: Turner; Brandi Kell, first runner-up.
Pre Teen Miss Texas County: Kayla Shriver; Hailey Dodson, first-runner-up.
Pre Teen Photogenic: Alissa Bowlin.
Petite Miss Texas County: Mackenzie Whitaker; Chelsey Henry, first runner-up; Chloe Hunninghake, second runner-up.
Petite Photogenic: Alexis Fuwell, Charlee Sue Jadwin and Whitaker, three-way tie.
Little Miss Texas County: Kim Tieu; Alexis Spratt, first runner-up; Janae Huff, second-runner up; Jaden Stell, third runner-up.
Little Photogenic: Jaden Stell; Spratt and Kaitlyn Trentham, first runners-up.
Tiny Miss Texas County: Sarah Purcell; Karly Drake, first runner-up; Angel Fitzgerald, second runner-up; Zoe Allen, third runner-up.
Tiny Photogenic: Novey Goforth; Sawyer, Drake and Purcell, first runners-up; Fitzgerald, second runner-up.
