RUBY DOUGLAS

Ruby Angie Douglas, 85, daughter of Otto Paul and Dolly Mae Cummins Krewson, was born March 31, 1923, at Cedar Grove. She died Sept. 21, 2008, at Houston House Nursing Center.

Her mother died when Ruby was age 4. Since she was one of the older children, she helped raise her brothers and sisters. Her father married Meda Helton.

She moved to California in the 1904s during World War II and became an inspector of large aircraft at a California production plant. She was involved in banking in California for several years. She moved back to Houston and worked at The Bank of Houston until she retired.

She married Ernest Wilcoxon Nov. 15, 1967, at Licking. He died Aug. 23, 1981.

She married Leland Douglas Feb. 2, 1986. They made their home in the White Rock community and moved in 1988 to Houston.

Mrs. Douglas was a cook and homemaker. She received Jesus as her Savior later in life and never tired of talking about her Lord and working in the church. She and Leland went to Houston House each Tuesday to have Bible reading and study with the residents.

In addition to her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Carl, Marvin, Delbert and James Paul Krewson; and one sister, Opal “Jo” McClanhan.

Surviving are her husband of the home; two brothers, Dale Krewson of Licking and Dean Krewson of Galt, Calif.; two sisters, Daisy Layton of Crooked River Ranch, Oreg., and Donna Gibbons of Vista, Calif.

Services are 2 o’clock today (Thursday) at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Powell officiating. Burial is in the Boone Creek Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the First Church of God in Houston.
