A southern Missouri native will begin duties Oct. 1 as the State Farm agent in Houston.
Jared Pyatt, a native of Viburnum, was appointed to the position. State Farm has offices on South Sam Houston Blvd.
Pyatt comes to Houston following employment with McKesson Corp. in Springfield, which he worked with hospitals to tackle their information technology needs. Prior to that, he was a management employee with Great Southern Bank.
He played four years on a golf scholarship at Missouri State University and has a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Master’s degree in Communication.
Pyatt and his fiance, Amy, will marry Feb. 28. “We think Houston will be a great fit for us,” he said, noting that they both have family in the area.
An open house event is planned from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at State Farm. A free barbecue meal will be served. Those attending will also meet Pyatt’s five-member staff. Pyatt said Monday he’s grateful to inherit the current staff of five employees who have more than 25 years of experience.
