Harry Daniel Kaut, 80, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008, at his home in Arroll.

He was born March 24, 1928, son of George W. Kaut and Harriett Rachel Milbank Kaut in Arroll. He married Esther Zetta Mitchell Jan. 2, 1948.

He worked at Firestone in Kansas City for six years beginning in 1948 before moving to the Arroll community and opening a mechanic shop. He enjoyed gardening and beehives and attended Midvale Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Margaret Cherry and Marie Bosley; two brothers, Al Kaut and Ralph Kaut; two sons, Arnold Ray Kaut and infant David E. Kaut; a grandson, Chad Kaut; and a great-granddaughter, Kayanna Kaut.

Survivors include his wife of the home; four children, Nancy Anderson and Linda Petty of Jonesboro, Ark., Richard Kaut of Sarcoxie and Jeff Kaut of Nixa; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Tom Kaut of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Raymond Kaut of Omaha, Neb., and Calvin Kaut of Arroll; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Services were Friday, Oct. 24, at Bradford Funeral Home with the Rev. Emmett Bradford and the Rev. Pat Cronk officiating. Burial was in Arroll Cemetery.
