Even though it was a loss, Houston volleyball coach Debbie James was pleased with her team’s effort Thursday in a 25-15, 22-25, 25-20 defeat to Mountain View-Liberty.
“I think they are starting to see that they can play extremely well,” James said. “I was impressed with our offense and blocking.”
Sophomore Erica Keeney had eight kills and five blocks and Amber Honig added seven. Each had just one error. Tory Burgess had a team-best 15 assists and sophomore Sarah Pierce added 12 assists and two aces.
The match was played at the middle school gym due to roof repairs at Hiett Gymnasium.
