About $7,500 was raised Saturday at Plato’s PTO Carnival, which supports several programs throughout the school year. About 500 attended.
A royal court was named, raffle winners announced and winners declared for contests.
Marshall Pittman and Alison Hall were named junior prince and princess. Other winners: Jacob Thomas and Mary Brooke Steinbach, prince and princess; and Austin McCoy and Anna Welch, king and queen.
The raffle winner of a $150 Wal-Mart gift card donated by Legacy Bank was Jay Pringle. Guthrie Cook won a quilt donated by Sharon McCoy. Dale Waters won a Nintendo Wii. Lodema Perry won a $500 Wal-Mart gift card.
Fred Abrams won first and Jessica James took second and third places at a chili cookoff.
Winners of a banana split eating contest were: Danny Loughridge, adult division; Calvin Hurd, sixth through twelfth grade; and Reese Bunse, elementary division.
Proceeds from the event help provide ribbons for All Sports Day, Geography Bee, a scholarship for a senior and other things, such bowling trip for readers.
