Raymondville autumn festival attracts 141

An autumn festival Sept. 30 at the Raymondville School attracted 141 patrons for an evening of food, games and a scary experience.

After a chili supper, patrons were given a brief talk about keeping their children safe during Halloween. Patrons were grouped with their family and another one. Each group visited numerous areas of entertainment.

At the event, students and their family played “Pass the Gourd” and “Pin the Arm on the Scarecrow.”

Each family also had their picture taken in front of a fall setting; then the students made a leaf frame for their family’s picture.

Everyone loved the “Haunted Library” story read by the librarian. Wet faces and hair identified the students who had bobbed for apples.

Each student also received their own pumpkin to decorate. Houston Wal-Mart donated money toward their purchase price.

The next Family Fun Night is Tuesday, Nov. 11, which is Veteran’s Day. The theme will be patriotism with special appreciation for veterans.
