Tony Wilson Williams, 95, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, in Houston.

He was born July 27, 1913, in Dent, son of Thomas R. and Mary Ellen Davidson Williams. He and Neppie Lee Merryman were married Sept. 13, 1935.

He worked many years as a head-sawyer on sawmills. Upon retiring, he grew vegetables and sold them at the Licking farmers’ market. He cut firewood for family, neighbors and himself until his heath began to fail in 2005.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; six brothers; two daughters; and a son.

Survivors include a son, Leon Williams; two daughters, Virginia Hildebrand and Wilma Cook; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

Services were Friday, Oct. 17, in the Fox Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Noel Mooney officiating. Burial was in Mitchell Cemetery.
