A 69-year-old Douglas County woman faces charges after admitting she fired at a National Guard helicopter used for marijuana eradication Wednesday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a Missouri National Guard pilot and state trooper were flying near the community of Vanzant when the aircraft was shot at. A trooper on the ground located the woman, who admitted that she fired upon the helicopter as it flew overhead.

She was taken to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department and held pending charges.

There were no injuries and no damage to the chopper. The patrol said investigation continues.
