Charles Allen Shelton, 50, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, at St. Johns Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur.
He was born Dec. 27, 1957, in Houston, son of Charles Elvin and Melva Naomi Davis Shelton.
He was crippled from birth but with the help of friend and teacher Paul Cheek, he graduated from Houston High School and worked several years at the Houston Sheltered Workshop. He accepted Jesus at a young age.
He enjoyed listening and talking on his C.B. radio, where his friends knew him as “night owl.”
Survivors include two aunts, Lorene Scheets and Norma Hunter, both of Houston; several cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carla Marie Shelton.
Services were Oct. 8 at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Wesley Wallace officiating. Burial was in Pine Lawn Cemetery.
