Iona Iola Hurley, 87, of Cabool, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008.

She was born May 16, 1921, near Bucyrus, daughter of Alex and Vivian Durnell Britzman. She and Roscoe Hurley were married Jan. 15, 1941.

She was raised in the White Rock community and graduated from Houston High School. She was a Christian and member of the Cabool Christian Church. She enjoyed baking pies for family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband on March 9, 2001; a son, Alan Hurley; three brothers, Amos, Ernest and Olin; and a sister, Eileen.

Survivors include a daughter, Joyce A. Brooks; a granddaughter; three step-grandsons; a sister, Ruby; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services were, Friday, Nov. 14, at the Cabool Christian Church with Bro. Bob Martin officiating. Burial was in Cabool Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home.
