John Overman, 73, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008, at his home in Centerville, Ohio.

He was born April 21, 1935, the son of Don and Doris Overman.

He moved to Houston in 1946 with his parents and graduated from Houston High School in 1954. He was saved at an early age while attending Oak Hill Church.

He served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and retired as a senior design engineer after many years of service in the Aerospace Industry.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a stepmother, Fern Overman; and a granddaughter.

Survivors include a wife, Mary Overman; three sons, Jim, Jeff and John; three daughters, Charlotte, Victoria and Emma; 10 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Jim of Florida; and two sisters, Ruth Henry of Clearfield, Iowa, and Amy Rose Cole of Houston.

Services were Monday, Nov. 3, at Newcomer Funeral Home in Dayton, Ohio. Burial with full military rites was in Dayton National Cemetery.
