Texas County’s non-profit organization, “Angels Home,” reports seven home fires since Nov. 1. Most destroyed everything the families owned.

Monetary donations, household items and new quilts (donated by the Piney River Quilt Guild) were given to these families. Angels Home was organized in October 2003 to help families start over after incurring a home fire.

The distribution center opened in December 2007. Due to generous donations, in one year the center has outgrown its current facility.

In January, the center will open in its new 2,000 square foot building in the Upton area. This new structure was bought and donated to Angels Home by an anonymous citizen. It will be open to the public to shop, with all proceeds going to support Angel’s Home mission.
