Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. Monday

From the National Weather Service: A period of freezing rain followed by a period of sleet will occur over much of southern Missouri Sunday night into Monday morning.

Most locations will experience one to two hours of freezing rain and sleet… with ice accumulations ranging from a trace to two tenths of an inch. Snow and sleet accumulations will be light as well… from a dusting to up to one inch.

The heaviest accumulations of ice will occur over the eastern Ozarks and south central Missouri, generally along and southeast of a line from Salem to Ava to Table Rock Lake. In this area ice accumulations of one to two tenths of an inch and a dusting of sleet is expected. Further west into southwest and central Missouri only light amounts of icing are expected to cover the landscape.

Roadways across southern and central Missouri will likely become impacted by this brief period of freezing rain and sleet. Where precipitation occurs motorists will encounter increasingly icy conditions. Monday morning commuters are encouraged to allow extra time to reach destinations.
