Heavy rains capable of dropping one to three inches are expected in Texas County beginning this evening and continuing through Saturday afternoon, the National Weather Service said. It has issued a flash flood watch.
Because of the frozen ground and lack of vegetation, flash floods will likely occur, it said.
The National Weather Service said low lying areas and areas near creeks and streams will be the most susceptible to the upcoming heavy rain.
