The generosity of Texas County residents is evident in the 24th annual “Share Your Christmas” campaign that is winding down this week. Organizers said Monday that 304 children will receive a brighter Christmas this year.
In all, 127 families will receive aid, said Pat Miller, an organizer. She said volunteers will be working through Christmas to deliver gifts.
Several organizations stepped forward this week to help in the campaign: Bucyrus Baptist Church, Central Baptist Church, Ozark Baptist Church, New Hope Baptist Church WMU, Houston Assembly of God women’s ministries, Houston Middle School, Houston High School Literary Society, Girl Scouts, the ladies auxiliary of Fleet Reserve Association 364, The Bank of Houston, Houston Wal-Mart, Revelle Logging, Hayes Café and Burch Insurance.
