The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow from 9 o’clock this evening to noon Tuesday.
A widespread area of accumulating snow will develop across southwest Missouri and extreme southeast Kansas late this evening and last through the morning hours on Tuesday.
About 2 to 4 inches of total snow accumulation can be expected through noon Tuesday with the highest amounts expected along the Interstate 44 corridor. A period of light freezing drizzle or light sleet will also be possible during the late morning hours on Tuesday.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of the white stuff will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow-covered roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving, the National Weather Service said.
