Perry Hutsell

Perry Hutsell, 87, died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008, at his daughter’s home in Norfork, Ark.

He was born May 28, 1921, in Graff, son of son of Riley and Lula Scott Hutsell. He and Virginia Grimes were married Aug. 27, 1939, in Mountain Grove.

After graduating from Mountain Grove High School in 1939, he served in WWII with the Army in France and Germany from Aug. 31, 1944 until May 3, 1946.

He managed Richard Brothers Grocery Store in Houston for one year and worked for Colonial Bread from 1948 until 1953. In July 1953, he and Virginia purchased the Piney Inn in Houston. They owned and operated it for 50 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Durham of Norfork, Ark.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A private burial was Friday, Dec. 12, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Mountain Grove under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
