Seven area residents graduated in December from William Woods University, Fulton.
Kari Ann Pittman of Plato earned a master’s degree in education.
An elementary teacher, Pittman is the daughter of Dean Tracy and Debbie Tracy, both of Lynchburg. She is the mother of Joel and Marshall Pittman.
William B. Bridges, Roberta Ann Geisler, Janet L. Pelaquin, all of Houston; Sandra Hall Johnston and Karen McNew, both of Licking; and Sonya Ann White of Raymondville earned master’s degrees in business administration.
Bridges is the director of EMS at Texas County Memorial Hospital. A receptionist/health educator at the Texas County Health Department, Geisler is the daughter of Paul Frame and the late Melba Church Frame of Tyrone. She received her bachlor’s degree from Drury University in Springfield. Pelaquin is an accountant. McNew is the manager of member services and development at Intercounty Electric Cooperative. White is the daughter of Bill and Dessie Beasley of Houston.
More educators than ever before earned their master of education degrees from William Woods University this year, as 719 graduate students completed requirements for master’s degrees in 2008.
The December graduates are among 477 students who graduated Dec. 12. Stephen Rasmussen, city administrator of Jefferson City and an adjunct faculty member, was the commencement speaker. A combined total of 1,279 students in all disciplines have graduated from WWU in the past 12 months.
