An urgent appeal was made Monday for children’s clothing and toys for the annual “Share Your Christmas” campaign that benefits needy kids in the county.

Pat Miller, coordinator for the drive, said clothing – both used and new – are needed to fulfill requests. This year’s efforts are headquartered in the basement of the Houston Lions Club on North U.S. 63.

Hours are 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Those who would like to make a monetary donation can do so by dropping it in the mail to: “Share Your Christmas,” P.O. Box 170, Houston, Mo. 65483. Applications for aid are available at the Share headquarters.

So far, 203 children have applied from 88 families. Fifty-two cases are adopted.

Among those making donations were: Route 63 Car Club, $1,700; Christian Motorcycle Club; Peace Chapel Church; Richardson Dental Clinic; Sorosis Club; Blue Heaven Club; Neal’s Sporting Goods; Publication Productions Division; Fort Leonard Wood; Top of the Ozarks Resource; Conservation and Development; USDA; Moore Electric and Contracting; and First National Bank employees.
