A Summersville native has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant with the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The promotion of Bruce D. Fiske, a graduate of Summersville High School, was effective last week.
Lt. Fiske was appointed to the patrol Jan. 1, 1996, and earned the top academic award for his recruit class. Upon graduation, he was assigned to Shannon and Howell counties in Troop G. On June 1, 2001, Fiske was promoted to the rank of corporal and designated as the assistant zone commander of Zone 5, which is responsible for patrolling Douglas and Ozark counties. Two years later, he was promoted to the rank of sergeant and designated as a zone supervisor for Howell and Shannon counties.
Before joining the patrol, Fiske served as a supervisor at Lee’s Equipment and Engineering in Houston. Fiske and his wife Sharon, have three children, Ashley, Brandon and Tiffany, and one grandchild, Alivea.
