Kyle Poynter scored 35 points to lead the Houston Tigers to a 73-61 road victory Friday at Dixon.

Ryan O’Neil hit three first-quarter 3-pointers for the Tigers, who outscored Dixon 36-27 in the second half to build on their three-point halftime advantage.

Poynter hit three triples and was 14-for-16 at the foul line as Houston (6-5) won its second straight game to move over the .500 mark for the first time this season.

JUNIOR VARSITY: Curry Van Horn scored 17 points to lead the JV Tigers past Dixon 44-37 Friday night.

The Tigers outscored Dixon 13-0 in the first quarter.
