Cledis Faye Hopper Satterfield died Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.

She was born Feb. 10, 1928, in Anadarko, Okla., daughter of Aaron Oran Hopper and Della Emaline Price Hopper. She married Virgil Lee Satterfield.

She babysat many area children and was considered “Grandma” to many. She had special relationships with Billy Richards, Marsha Richards and Stevie Booker, nicknamed “dough boy.”

She ministered to many people, including one person at the hospital the day before she died.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; an infant son, Perry Dewayne Satterfield; and two grandchildren.

Survivors include four children, Oren Satterfield of Mountain Grove, Terry Satterfield of Salem, and Jerry Satterfield and Crystal Ritz of Licking; nine grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Services were Monday, Feb. 16, at the Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Amy Dickens and the Rev. David Wilson officiating. Burial was in Licking Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. James Miller officiating. Services were under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.
