The Animal Shelter of Texas County hopes to connect a mile of $1 bills to raise money for the organization.
An organizer explains that a dollar bill is about six inches long – so it will take about 10,000 single bills to reach the goal.
The event launches Saturday outside of Houston Wal-Mart. Valentine Day cookies also will be on sale.
The funds collected go toward homeless, abandoned and abused animals in the county.
In case of inclement weather, the event will be at Moose Coffee and Gifts at 725 S. Sam Houston Blvd. in Houston.
