Kenneth (Ken) Irwin

Kenneth (Ken) Irwin, 44, son of Lloyd Irwin and the late Joyce Johnson Irwin, died on Jan. 30, 2009, after a brief illness.

Ken was born Jan. 5, 1965, in Warren, Pa. He attended Warren Area High School and graduated from Westwood High School, Ft. Pierce, Fla., in 1982. He served in the U.S. Navy as a construction Sea Bees until 1991 when he was injured in a diving accident. Ken always had a smile on his face. He always cared more for others than himself and was always willing to help. He was loved by many.

In spite of his handicap, he was able to do the things he loved; boating, camping, floating, fishing, playing pool, riding ATVs and being with his children.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Johnson Irwin; and both paternal and maternal grandparents.

He is survived by his father, Lloyd (Butch) Irwin Jr.; three children, Britney Irwin, Aezia Irwin and Kenneth Irwin II; a brother, Kevin Irwin and wife, Teresa, of Success, Mo.; three sisters, Cynthia Wagner and husband, John, of Warren, Pa.; Brenda Harrison and husband, Wayne, of Cape May, N.J.; Pamela Durnell and husband, Martin, of Warren, Pa.; two step-brothers, Samoeun Cheng and Samath Cheng, and a step-sister, Vy Cheng, all of Sicklerville, N.J.; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Services were 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, at Fox Chapel with Mr. Martin Durnell officiating.

Pallbearers were Chuck Adkins, Scott Bisker, Landon Lemons, Kris Irwin, Dan Johnson and Jay Sullins and Kenneth Irwin II as honorary pallbearer.

Interment was in Old Success Cemetery with full military honors.
