A prisoner at the South Central Correctional Center at Licking died Tuesday at a Jefferson City Hospital.
Jeffery Hartley, 52, died at Capitol Region Medical Center. An inmate since December 1991, he was serving a 40-year sentence for attempted rape and burglary from Boone County.
Officials said an autopsy is planned.
