More than 13,000 Girl Scouts cookie boxes arrive in Houston

It was one sweet load: 13,824 boxes of Girl Scouts cookies delivered to Houston on Monday.

That represents the sales total of cookies by Girl Scouts throughout the county. Persons who didn’t have a chance to purchase them still have an opportunity. Gayla Bratton, cookie coordinator for the Mark Twain Service Unit, said booth sales are planned for the next five Saturdays at Houston’s Wal-Mart Supercenter. Each girl has a goal.

Deliveries of cookies also are planned this week. Persons who can’t find a Girl Scout can phone Bratton at 417-967-3898. A cookie pantry also is available at Houston Plaza on North U.S. 63.
