Geneva M. Davis Stark, 90, of Cabool, died Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at Kabul Nursing Home after a long illness.

She was born May 12, 1918, in the Sandy Mush community of Leicester, N.C., daughter of Melvin and Margaret Teague Davis. She and Claude Stark of Cabool were married May 5, 1945, in Union Baptist Church in Leicester, N.C. He died June 12, 1994.

She moved with her husband to East Peoria, Ill., and worked at the Caterpillar Tractor Company. She retired June 1, 1978, and moved to Cabool.

She was a member of the Cabool United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to South Texas, fishing, playing cards, reading and her dog, Fluffy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Roy, Marvin, Wayne, Carl and Willard; a sister, Myrtle; and a stepdaughter, Dixie Murphy.

Survivors include step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services were Saturday, Feb. 28, at Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home with Pastor Phillip Nava officiating. Burial was in the Pine Lawn Cemetery.
