Three accidents and two assaults were among investigations handled during the last week by Houston police.
Officers:
-Cited Robin L. Hayes, 44, of Houston, with driving while license suspended following a March 12 accident near Sommerfield Drive and U.S. 63. Police said Hayes’ vehicle left the roadway and traveled down a steep embankment before hitting the ground and overturning. The vehicle came to rest near a large concrete culvert.
Hayes told police that she had recently changed prescription medication, and it caused her to become drowsy and she fell asleep.
-Charged Peter E. Dow, 48, of Plato, with first-degree trespassing on March 10 at the Texas County Food Pantry, where in January he had been told not to return.
-Cited Brandon M. Ingram, 20, of Licking; and Chad W. Hutsell, 19, of 1294 John St., with minor in possession of alcohol on March 15.
-Charged Kim C. Akers, 50, 777 W. Highway 17, Apt. 14, with third-degree assault on March 12 of a 13-year juvenile.
-Investigated a March 9 accident that police said occurred when a vehicle driven by Kayla L. Cooper, 18, of 7434 Brown Hill Road, pulled from a parking space at a swimming pool lot and struck a truck operated by Camie J. Weisacosky, 17, of Solo.
-Cited Billy Jack Hayes, 18, of 8800 Highway E, with third-degree assault of a victim, 17, and minor in possession of alcohol on March 12.
-Charged Kali L. Allen, 19, of Success, with third-degree assault on March 9 following an assault of girl, 17, at Houston Wal-Mart.
-Charged William C. Tate, 19, of Mountain Grove, with stealing under $500 following a shoplifting incident at Houston Wal-Mart on March 13. Police said $465 in items were placed in bags and taken from the store. Another man, Benjamin N. Hadley, 21, of Mountain Grove, was charged with peace disturbance.
-Cited Patrick L. Vaughan, 18; and Jimmy C. Royal, 17, both of Licking, with minor in possession of alcohol on March 13.
-Investigated an accident March 15 that police said occurred when a vehicle driven by Thomas Chapman, 80, of Houston, ran off West Highway 17 and struck a dirt embankment. He was taken by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
