Officers found a bloody driver who was intoxicated with a gun early Sunday when they made a traffic stop in Houston.
The man, Jared D. Grogan, 23, of Owensville, told officers from the Houston Police Department and Missouri State Highway Patrol that he was leaving a party behind a business on South U.S. 63 at about 4 a.m. when someone struck him. Officers said they made the stop because a passenger-side door was barely attached to the vehicle.
Grogan, who possessed a weapon in the vehicle, told officers he possibly struck an electric pole when leaving because several people were chasing him.
The matter remains under investigation.

-Cited Mallory M. Fithen, 20, of 777 W. Highway 17, Apt. 12, with
third-degree assault following a March 5 incident at 306 Broadway. Kimberly Folsom, 41, of 18100 Highway B, told officers that she was assaulted. According to police report, Fithen was upset about some items that had been taken to a jail inmate.
-Arrested David Wolfe, 22, of 1403 Cherokee Circle, on a Houston warrant charging him with assault. He posted $1,000 bond on March 5.
-Investigated a Feb. 28 accident that occurred when a truck driven by Clayton T. Scheets, 18, of Houston, slid off South U.S. 63, down an embankment and came to rest in a ditch.
-Charged Sean A. Skaggs, 19, of Rolla, with failing to register a motor vehicle – displayed plates of another vehicle – on March 8.
-Cited Devin J. Carter, 21, of 721 Dooley, with DWI – alcohol; operating a motor vehicle on highway while driver’s license privilege revoked; and operating a motor vehicle owned by another knowing owner of vehicle had not maintained financial responsibility on March 7.
-Are investigating the theft of the identity of Russell A. Reed, 40, 306 Skyview Terrace. It occurred apparently in 2007.
-Cited James R. Olson, 20, of 530 Florence, with operating a motor vehicle with no valid operator’s license and failed to exhibit insurance identification card on March 4.
-Investigated an accident March 1 that occurred when a vehicle driven by Rhonda J. Ramsey, 32, of 8227 Fisher Drive, Lot 4, struck a car in the rear operated by Kenneth N. Polm, 55, of Cabool. The accident occurred on South Sam Houston Blvd. near Holder Drive.
-Cited Eva W. Rowland, 27, of 517 Bryan St., with possession of drug paraphernalia on March 6. According to a report, DFS conducted an investigation upon learning that a newborn infant was left unattended in the home.
