Pastor Bill Villapiano was recognized Sunday, March 25, for his devoted service to Faith Fellowship Church the past 25 years.
The event included a “spotlight” of Villapiano’s service, congratulations and memories from his four children. He was given a crystal eagle award and received a standing ovation from the congregation.
Villapiano came to Faith Fellowship in March 1984, when the store met in a storefront property on Highway 17 that now houses H&R Block and other businesses. The church moved to its current location, 3.5 miles west of Houston on Highway 17, in April 1987.
There are still several members of the congregation who were present when Villapiano became pastor.
“When I have mentioned how long you have been ministering over the same church to Christians of various denominations, they have often been surprised or thrilled about the duration of your ministering and teaching at Faith Fellowship,” said Villapiano’s oldest son, Paul. “I take delight in what you have done so far, and I believe you will continue to lead the church beyond the next 25 years.”
Said his daughter, Charity: “Being the daughter of a man that has poured so much of his heart and soul into not only his faith, but also this church, makes me beam with pride.”
