Area churches are planning special services this week in observance of Easter.
Fairview Pentecostal Church, Highways 38 and M. Easter Sunday service 10 a.m. with Howell Family Singers. Dinner and Easter egg hunt after service
Community Crossroads Church in Raymondville: 6:30 p.m. April 10 Good Friday communion service; will participate in the 7 a.m. Easter Sunday community sunrise service at Raymondville First Baptist. 9 a.m. is Easter service at Community Crossroads.
Raymondville First Baptist Church: Hosting the 7 a.m. community sunrise service and breakfast following. 10 a.m. Sunday School and 11 a.m. worship. No evening service.
Northside Baptist Church will have a 6:30 a.m. Easter Sunday sunrise service with Max Courtney as speaker followed with breakfast prepared by the men. Sunday School at 10 a.m. and worship services at 11 a.m. Evening services dismissed.
Area Catholic churches: St. Mark’s in Houston will have a Good Friday service at noon and Holy Saturday Easter Vigil Mass 7 p.m.
St. John’s in Licking will have a Holy Thursday Mass at 7 o’clock, Good Friday service at 5:30 p.m. and Easter Sunday Mass at 8 a.m.
St. Vincent de Paul in Roby will have an Easter Sunday Mass at 10:30 a.m.
Bucyrus Baptist will have an Easter Sunday sunrise service at 6:30 with breakfast following. Morning worship is 10:45 a.m. Sunday evening services will be dismissed.
First Baptist Church in Houston will have an Easter musical “Raise the Crown” at 10:35 a.m.
First Christian Church will have a 7:30 a.m. Easter Sunday, musical and drama “A Picture of Calvary” followed by breakfast and 9:30 a.m. Easter services. Evening services dismissed.
Holy Cross Lutheran in Houston will have a 6 p.m. Good Friday “Service of Darkness” in which members reflect on the seven words of Christ from the cross. A special Easter Sunday service at 8 a.m. will be followed by breakfast. Around 10 a.m. is an Easter egg hunt for the children.
Faith Fellowship will have a 10:30 p.m. Easter Sunday presentation “Resurrection or Recession.” A message of hope beyond the grave and the crisis.
Souls Harbor Family Worship will have an Easter Sunday sermon at 10:30 a.m., “Proof of the Resurrection” with special music and video presentations, and there will be Easter treats for all the kids.
Houston Bible Baptist: 10 a.m. Sunday School, 11 a.m. Easter message and evening service at 6 o’clock.
Ozark Baptist Church: 10:45 a.m. Easter celebration presentation by the choir and youth ministries with music, scripture and drama depicting the Easter story. No regular evening services due to business meeting; members encouraged to attend.
United Methodist Church in Houston will have a Holy Thursday worship service at 7 tonight. At 7 p.m. April 10 will be a Good Friday service and at 7 a.m. Easter Sunday a sunrise service with a 7:30 a.m. breakfast to follow. Sunday School is at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. is Easter worship service.
Wellspring Church: will have an Easter music service at 10:30 a.m.
First Church of God in Houston will have a Maundy Thursday service of the ordinances at 6 tonight. Traditional Easter services Sunday morning with Sunday School at 10 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m.
Clara Baptist Church will have its annual homecoming day with 10 a.m. Sunday School, 11 a.m. Easter worship services followed by a carry-in dinner and Easter egg hunt for the children after lunch.
Brown Hill Baptist Church will have a sunrise breakfast around 8 a.m. with special Easter readings and sermon at 10 a.m. Easter Sunday
