Tammy Kaye Akers, 50, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at her home in Raymondville.
She was born Aug. 17, 1958, in Springfield.
She grew up in the Springfield and Nixa areas, working at Hudson Foods and was a talented waitress working at several restaurants. She loved being outside, playing with her dogs, Susie, Sally and Pistol, and being a homemaker.
She enjoyed flea markets and yard sales. She enjoyed cleaning her husband’s truck and getting it ready for the road. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Trudy Hankins; and two brothers, Ricky and Randy Thurston.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry of Raymondville; a son, Robert Rost of Springfield; a daughter Michelle Wright of Russell, Kan.; and nine grandchildren.
Services were Saturday, March 21, at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Merckling officiating. Burial was in Boone Creek Cemetery.
