Orville Austin Freeman Sr., 75, died Friday, May 15, 2009, at the Harry S Truman Memorial Veterans’ Hospital in Columbia.

He was born Jan. 2, 1934, son of Roy and Julia Freeman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Delbert, Robert and Johnny; and two sisters, Annabell Click and Celia Freeman.

Survivors include his wife, Ada Daniels Freeman of the home; four children, Monica Freeman Davy of Licking, Orville Austin Freeman Jr. of Lee’s Summit, Roy A. Freeman of Columbia and Pandee Freeman Johnson of Fenton; three stepchildren, Patricia Fall and Steven Ritz of Licking and Gregory Ritz of Rolla; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ernest and Jerald of Edgar Springs and Frank of Mountain Grove; a sister, Marie Phillips of Rolla; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

His request was to have his body donated to the School of Medicine at Washington University.

Memorial services are pending. Local arrangements were under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.
