Updated at 12:06 p.m. Saturday: The State Farm Marshal’s Office is investigating a Houston fire that gutted a structure Wednesday near the downtown business district.

Earlier: A house near the downtown Houston business district was gutted Wednesday night in a fire that sent two fire departments to the scene.
Smoke was billowing from the structure at Broadway and Mill streets when firemen from the Houston Fire Department arrived. The property is owned by Kathleen Fiquet. The house was heavily damaged. Raymondville firefighters also arrived to assist Houston.
