A Houston teenager and recent graduate was killed in a single-car accident Saturday night on Highway B, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Tpr. Curtis Hubbs said David S. Foster, 18, was fatally injured when his 1977 Corvette ran off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected and traveled off the left side of the roadway before striking a rock embankment nearly head-on. The vehicle then traveled back across the roadway and came to a rest on its right side.
The accident, which occurred at 11:50 p.m., was one mile east of Houston. Hubbs said Foster, the lone passenger in the vehicle, was not wearing his seat belt. He was pronounced dead at Texas County Memorial Hospital.
Foster was a 2009 graduate of Houston High School. He was a four-year member of the baseball team and played football the past two seasons.
Services for the son of Houston City Clerk Tonya Foster and her husband, Gene, are 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church, Houston. Arrangements are under the direction of Evans Funeral Home of Houston.
