The Missouri State University Community Caravan will make a stop today (Thursday) in Houston.
The MSU caravan will host a noon lunch with the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce. It is invitation only. From 1:30 until 2 p.m., the caravan will visit Houston High School.
This is the second year of the MSU caravan, which makes 20 appearances in communities around the state. Caravan stops are organized by one or more counties – typically there is a breakfast event in one location and a lunch in another – and many times the caravan day includes a visit to area high schools and/or visits with alumni and donors who live in the area.
Missouri State’s president, Dr. Mike Nietzel, initiated the concept in 2008 – the intent is to renew, reconnect and recommit the University to its geographic roots in southwest Missouri.
