Houston police were called to accidents, assaults and reports of property damage during the last week.

Officers:

-Responded to Houston Wal-Mart, where a counterfeit check was discovered. The phony U.S. Treasury totaled $120 and was received in the mail by a Houston resident. The local police department will forward its report to the U.S. Secret Service.

-Cited Sarah E. Pierce, 16, of 8289 U.S. 63, Houston, with following too closely following an April 27 accident at First St. and South Sam Houston Blvd. Pierce struck in the rear a vehicle driven by Michele R. Akers, 49, of Raymondville.

-Charged Andrew L. Shoults, 29, of 101 Sugar Maple Dr., with failing to stop for posted sign on May 1.

-Cited Travis D. Campbell, 24, with following too closely following a May 1 accident at West Highway 17 and South Sam Houston Blvd. Campbell’s truck struck a vehicle operated by Charles J. Stark, 20, of St. Louis.

-Charged Charlene K. Douglas, 45, of 107B Cedar, with property damage on April 30. Michael L. Hinton, 56, of 107B Cedar also was cited with third-degree assault.

-Cited Randall L. Bacon Jr., 18, of Licking, with property damage on April 29 following an incident in which $129 in items were taken from the Houston Wal-Mart Supercenter.

-Cited Terry L. Fleming, 46, of 608 Ozark, with third-degree assault on May 1 in the Houston Wal-Mart Supercenter parking lot. A 23-year-old Bucyrus man was struck, police said.

-Charged Heather L. Sanders, 35, of Success, and Angela Caswell, 21, of 6270 South Sam Houston Blvd., with peace disturbance by fighting May 1 at Corner Express.
