The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks is hosting its 13th annual Salute a Veteran Blood Drive from June 15 through July 5.

CBCO will hold a drive from 1-6 p.m. Friday, June 19, at First Christian Church in Houston. A code yellow alert has been issued for all blood types. There is less than a two-day supply on hospital shelves.

Participants in any drive during Salute a Veteran will receive a patriotic T-shirt. They may also write a note of thanks or greeting to a veteran. Donors should bring the address where the card should be sent. CBCO will pay for postage.

Eligibility requirements include weighing at least 110 pounds, being in general good health and a present ID.
