Charles David Cunningham, 72, was born Feb. 4, 1937, in Salem, Mo., to Jack and Myrtle Cunningham. He passed away to his heavenly home Monday, June 29, 2009.

He is survived by his wife, Linda. He is also survived by Sonya Cunningham and their sons, David of Springfield, Mo., Randy of Houston, Mo., and Jim and his wife Andrea of Nixa, Mo.; five grandchildren, Charles Connor, Chloe, Seth, Ashlyn and Jack; two brothers, Max and wife Margie of Hurst, Texas, and Ron and wife Raclean of Rogersville, Mo.; two stepsons, Brad Smith and wife Erin of Springfield and Kevin Smith of Sacramento, Calif.; two step-grandchildren, Kale and Park Smith; and a host of other family and friends.

Charlie graduated from Houston High School in 1955. He worked at Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kan., for several years before moving in 1960 to Springfield, Mo., where he was employed at Royal Typewriter as lead man until the plant closed. He began has career as a brick mason, later owning Cunningham Masonry, Inc. until he semi-retired.

Charlie coached Mighty Mites in his earlier years. He was always ready to help anyone who needed him. He was a great father. He coached their ball teams, teaching them to enjoy camping, fishing, water skiing and hunting.

Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 2, at Preston-Marsh Funeral Home in Rogersville, Mo. Memorial services are 11 a.m. Friday, July 3, at Praise Assembly of God in Springfield, Mo.
