There is good news on Houston’s employment front, reports the Missouri Department of Economic Development.
The jobless rate in Texas County dropped significantly in April to 7.1 percent. That’s down 2.3 percentage points from the previous month.
Other counties: Douglas, 8.1; Howell, 8.2; Shannon, 10.2; and Wright, 9.1.
The average rate in south-central Missouri was 7.6 percent.
