Waiting in the middle of the night in the parking lot for a court appearance, a Houston man got an early trip to the Texas County Jail.

Police said they arrested Forrest N. Maxey, 67, of 8175 Mineral Drive, on charges of resisting arrest and failing to obey a police office on June 2. Maxey was found on the Texas County Justice Center parking lot at 2:29 a.m. next to a green plastic wagon, and he told an officer that he had a court appearance and would wait in the parking lot until the building opened.

When the officer took Maxey to the sheriff’s department to inquiry if that plan was okay with the agency, Maxey became agitated and threw a large black plastic waste can across a sidewalk. A jailer assisted in arresting Maxey.
