Lena Dosha Lesley Neugebauer, 93, died Friday, May 29, 2009, at Texas County Memorial Hospital.
She was born Feb. 2, 1916, in Grapeland, Texas, daughter of Allen Irl and Flossey Cordellia Riddlesburger Leslie. She and Fredrick Enoch Neugebauer were married July 24, 1933.
She loved to cook and can and made bread until her stroke one week before her death. She also enjoyed quilting, crocheting, attending flea markets and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by a son, Freddie Neugebauer; three brothers, Garlin, Eldon and Ottis Lesley; and two sisters, Mary Coleman and Geneva Brown.
Survivors include her husband and two sons, Carl Neugebauer of Anncoco, La., and Irley Neugebauer of Houston; a daughter, Bea Flores of Nixa; 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Tommie Inez Crowder of Patrolia, Texas, Cleo Kuma of Ardmore, Okla., and Levita Neugebauer of Houston.
Services were Tuesday, June 2, at Souls Harbor Family Worship with Pastor Cordie Wimberley officiating. Burial was in Boone Creek Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
