TCMH makes donation to Plato Schools

Texas County Memorial Hospital recently presented the Plato R-V School District with a $250 donation to benefit the Plato Scholarship Fund.

All Plato School students must participate in “junior interviews” as a graduation requirement. Professionals at area businesses are invited to act as interviewers for the students to provide a “real life” job interview experience. Students receive a grade and are eligible for a scholarship from the Plato Scholarship Fund.

Following the 2008 interviews, Leon Slape, district superintendent at Plato, began soliciting donations to help grow the scholarship fund to better assist students faced with college bills.

“Texas County Memorial Hospital is pleased to be asked to participate in this program at Plato Schools,” said Wes Murray, chief executive officer at TCMH. “We consider northwest Texas County and the surrounding area to be an important part of our hospital’s service area, and we wholeheartedly support area students that are pursuing higher education after high school.”

Toni McKinney, registration director at TCMH, participated as an interviewer in 2008.
