Nancy Fisher of Houston was recently named Texas County Memorial Hospital’s June employee of the month.
Fisher is a housekeeper at TCMH and has worked at the hospital for 10 years. She was nominated by two TCMH managers: Amy Wilson, housekeeping manager; and Krista Elliott, medical surgical department nurse manager.
Fisher was previously employee of the month in July 2003 when she worked in the TCMH dietary department.
“Nancy exemplifies customer service,” Wilson said. “She treats everyone the way she would want to be treated.”
Elliott noted that Fisher “does a great job all around.” Elliott attributed excellent patient satisfaction scores for the housekeeping department in part to the efforts of Fisher.
“If anyone needs help, Nancy is the first one to jump in and help out without saying a word,” Wilson explained. “Nancy takes her job seriously and always has a positive attitude.”
As employee of the month, Fisher received a certificate honoring her achievement; a pin; $100 cash; a special parking place in the TCMH lot; one day of paid vacation; a membership in the TCMH Fitness Center; a $50 gift card; a gift certificate to D&L Florist and CD of the month from KUNQ.
A reception is planned at the hospital in honor of Fisher, who is eligible for the 2009 TCMH employee of the year award.
