A Fort Leonard Wood soldier entered a post dining facility and stabbed a civilian employee in the neck with a knife early Thursday morning.
The name of the soldier is being withheld pending an investigation. The stabbing occurred around 8:40 a.m.
According to a news release, the subject fled the scene and later turned himself in to the installation’s East Gate access control officers around 9:20 a.m., where he was apprehended.
The civilian employee was transported by ambulance to the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital and is listed in stable condition.
The suspect is being held at the post military police station, and the incident is under investigation.
