Four persons are implicated in vandalism to a new sidewalk at the Houston School District. The whole episode on July 13 was captured on surveillance cameras on campus.

Police arrived after a report confirming damage had occurred. An officer found carved into the concrete, “WWS, RWS, MLS, WLS, ADIO, DG, JR, 115 and 15.”

Two boys, ages 11 and 13, were referred to juvenile authorities. Police are seeking felony property damage charges against two men, ages 53 and 38.

Damage is estimated at $1,550.

In other matters, police:

-Charged Matthew S. Wiggs, 35, 140 Oak Crest Dr., with operating a motor vehicle while operator’s license was revoked on July 13.

-Heard from John Thomas, a supervisor, with CableAmerica, that someone had forced open a side storage panel door on a vehicle and removed equipment totaling about $2,000 on July 11-13.

-Arrested Jerry W. Collins, 56, of Houston, on July 14 on an active warrant from Phelps County that charged him with DWI, persistent offender.

-Charged Robert D. Lane, 30, of Licking, with operating a motor vehicle in an intoxicated condition (persistent offender) and operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner by failing to maintain traction on July 10.

-Cited Joshua L. Chambers, 19, 1325 West Crest Dr., and Kyle E. Mayfield, 20, of 9046 Arthur Creek Dr., with minor in possession of alcohol (beer) on July 17.

-Charged Tyler M. Anderson, 17, of Mountain Grove, with stealing two bottles of Captain Morgan Parrot Bay rum – first at 8:27 p.m. on July 17 and again at 9:15 p.m. – from Houston Wal-Mart Supercenter. The crime was detected by Cabool police, who made a stop of five teenage boys and discovered the stolen loot. The loss was estimated at $12 per bottle, police said.

-Charged Jesse J. Hines, 38, of Doniphan, with improper lane use on July 18.
