Janice L. Pogue, 60, died Saturday, July 11, 2009, at her home in Licking.

She was born Nov. 30, 1948, in Evansville, Ind., daughter of Lee Allen Eakins and Norma Jo Eakins Daniels. She and Dannie Pogue Sr. were married April 11, 1977, in Jefferson County.

She moved to St. Louis in 1960 with her brothers, Gary Wayne Eakins, Nay Allen Eakins and John Joseph Eakins. She spent 30 years working at Chrysler in Fenton alongside her husband, Dannie. They retired to Licking, where they built their home.

She enjoyed raising her children and was known with friends Isalene and Thelma as “The Golden Girls.” She loved gambling, camping, hunting, taking trips, Christmas and being with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Eric Pogue.

Survivors include her husband, Daniel Pogue Sr. of Licking; four sons, Lee Allen Hosna and Dannie Pogue Jr. of Licking, Joseph Hosna of Halfway and Brian Hosna of Lebanon; a daughter, Dana Hickey of Kansas; 22 grandchildren; three brothers, Gary Wayne Eakins of Pevely, Nay Allen Eakins of Stanton and John Joseph Eakins of Evansville, Ind.; numerous nieces and nephews; and many others she considered family.

Services were Wednesday, July 15, at Fox Funeral Home Chapel with Father Matthew Rehrauer officiating. Burial was in Licking Cemetery.
