A three-vehicle wreck early Monday evening south of Summersville closed Highway 17 and injured one motorist, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.
Tpr. Myron Downey said a 1994 Ford Ranger northbound truck driven by Lawrence H. Young, 93, of Summersville, struck the rear of a stopped 2007 Impala, which was operated by Linda L. Evans, 53, of Summersville, and a southbound towed unit of a 1993 Ford semi-tractor operated by David G. Embury, 47, of Willow Springs.
Evans was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View with minor injuries, said Downey.
A deer caused an accident Monday night three miles south of Roby on Highway 17, said Sgt. Jeff Kinder of the patrol. Michael A. Willard, 27, of Bloomfield, was traveling northbound in a 2003 Dodge Caravan when striking the animal in the roadway.
A passenger, Malinda S. Willard, 27, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.
Kinder said the vehicle sustained extensive damage.
