The City of Houston has submitted paperwork to the Federal Emergency Management Agency related to claiming disaster relief from a May 8 storm.
City Administrator Larry Sutton reported during a short Monday meeting of the council that the documentation had been presented. President Obama earlier declared the county a disaster area.
Among the projects the city hopes to complete is replacement of a pavilion at Pine Lawn Cemetery, which was destroyed when high winds struck the area.
